Food
A cooked or continental breakfast is included with my own muesli, freshly squeezed orange juice and other ingredients sourced locally (for example traditionally cured farm bacon)

Packed lunches can be provided at around £8 per head

Supper is available at £25 per head including wine

Supper usually consists of soup plus home made bread, followed by a main course which is accompanied by potatoes or rice, seasonal vegetables or salad. Cheese and fruit to finish with tea, coffee or tisane.

All the food is home made; I use local, organic or traceable ingredients. Salads and vegetables are often from my own garden.

I make my own bread with flour from our neighbouring organic farm Gilchesters.
Please contact me a few days beforehand to discuss the supper menu!

  • Have just returned home from a wonderful long weekend at Bog House. We can only agree with previous visitors - Rosemary is the perfect hostess, attentive yet unobtrusive. Her breakfasts and suppers are excellent and the accommodation is all you could wish for. An ideal location to visit Northumberland and just what we needed to recharge our batteries.
  • Our one-night stay was perfect - peaceful surroundings, lovely house, very comfortable bed, excellent food and bottle of wine, and a friendly, generous welcome. We would love to have stayed longer, and hope we will return soon.
  • I have visited Northumberland many times but had previously missed this treasure. Rosemary is a brilliant host and made us very welcome. Her beautiful home is very relaxing and her cooking is superb. We were literally bowled over with the tranquility. The rooms are very comfortable and she had thought about everything you might need including a stock of new magazines. It was just a perfect break and I highly recommend it. We are going back again later in the year.
  • Lovely place with great food. Breakfast absolutely delicious and served in beautiful high ceilinged room with log fire and open country views. Excellent choice for a quiet indulgent weekend.
  • A relaxing and relaxed place to stay. Warm, comfortable and welcoming. Totally peaceful. Rosemary is a most delightful hostess. It is like staying with a friend. Perfect base for visiting Hadrian's Wall.
  • for a country retreat this is as good as it gets. faultless yet unfussy, the accommodation is as perfectly charming as Rosemary. with home made bread and food from the local farms all BnB's should be like this. I was staying due to a wedding but would consider going up again just for a get away for it all break.
  • This is the sort of b and b you dream of finding, and when you do, you want to keep it to yourself! Rosemary made us so welcome in her beautiful home, cooked a delicious dinner, provided wine which we had forgotten, and made us feel just like honoured guests. Two days was far too short a visit, we hope to return.
