Matfen with its 18 hole golf course and Matfen Hall Country House Hotel is just 3 miles away. One hour's drive from Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden. Other attractions include Durham Cathedral, Beamish Museum, Kielder Water, the great castles of Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and Warkworth, also Holy Island. The Bowes museum is also easily accessible.
